He was born in Birmingham, England. His academic qualifications include a degree in mechanical engineering. In 1996, Craig first arrived on the scene at the age of 26. His unique style demonstrates balance and confidence clearly defined from a motocross background. Craig is a natural showman on circuit but he has a policy of never being satisfied. With self promotion, this has lead to a constant reappraisal of his image and his shows. After riding Triumph, Suzuki and then Honda, the real break came in early 2000 when he became sponsored by Harley Davidson/Buell. Craig quotes, "At last I can fully express my passion for entertaining people around the world. I want everyone to enjoy motorcycling as much as I do." With regard to Craig's world status within the very small rather unrecognised type of bike discipline, he became the European Stunt Champion in June 2002. Later that year he also accomplished his first world Record. From 119 mph, he travelled 225 metres (740 feet) on the front wheel of a buell XB9S lightning !! Press coverage around the world both in magazines, newspapers and on TV has been massive and continues as Craig looks for new angles of news. His aggressive attitude, combined with balance and skill, sets him apart from anyone else and has earned him the deserved reputation. His fan base is huge in and around Europe, but as word spreads after performing in fourteen countries, fan following is on the increase around the world. You can't help but like the guy. His cheeky grin and wild attitude never fails to spark the day off with an explosion. He is ideal to warm the crowds for a day at the races. Countries he has performed in include USA, Canada, Japan, Norway, Australia, China, Germany, France, Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, Holland, England and Ireland. This year will be his first visit to Belgium and Poland. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and today many try to copy Craig's unique style, but with his constant development of choreography, content and the energy and enthusiasm in each performance, it will be many years before he loses his position as one of the world's best. Craig's impact reaches three distinct audiences: 1. Kids up to their late teens. They enjoy the energy and excitement he creates. The kids are the future. Strong images and attitudes at this age help to influence their outlook and decisions in later life. 2. Eighteen to thirty age group. Many are on the road now and have made their decisions about what bike to ride and who is making sense in the motorcycle world. However, Craig Jones is appearing everywhere and his influence feeds their curiosity towards Buell motorcycles. 3. The thirty plus audience. These are people who have reached a point in their lives where a motorcycle can be a means of escape. Craig enjoys explaining the skills as well as showing them off, so they can relate to him and understand the potential fun that is available with modern motorcycling. What started out for Craig only a few years ago as sport and entertainment, has developed and represents today both lifestyle and recreation. Craig's success has not gone unnoticed outside of motorsport and motorcycling because in late 2000 he moved into the world of movie making, as an addition to his already busy schedule. His talents were exploited at Pinewood studios, London and were seen on the Big Screen in the film " TOMB RAIDER ". In 2002, his services were required to choreograph and act out a bike race scene in " LUGER THE MOVIE ". As well as also presenting in TV motorcycle programs, Craig remains to be as versatile as ever and will continue to progress forward. |
