STUNTWARS is the largest event each year, bringing more than 100 stuntriders and/or teams to the event, and in 2005 brought more than 15,000 fans and spectators over the weekend. Stuntwars was also documented in the MTV reality show "True Life, I Live to Ride" in 2004. documenting four different riders and teams throughout the weekend. Release 1/24: XSBA - Aurora, IL 46,000 people were on hand at Houston's Reliant Stadium, where the Houston Texans NFL football team plays. The stadium capacity is 75,000 but when the XSBA riders took to the floor under spotlights and fireworks on Saturday night you would have thought that the stadium was at capacity. 8 of the XSBA's hottest stars were on hand to put on the 1st ever street freestyle feature show inside a dome or arena. The concrete surface was prepared and had adequate traction, however as the night went on, the surface became less funtional. Despite the slick surface, the riders put on a show that was beyond amazing as the crowd lit up with every acrobatic manuver... ending with a 20' endo by Teach (McNeil), which by the crowd reaction, you would have thought that he did a back-flip. Click Here to Enter Giveaway 10/28/2003 *Press Release From XSBA.com* "Crazy" Dan Jackson wins Daytona and Freestyle Championship  Jackson claimed four wins over the five events as well as Top Qualifier honors at Daytona with some of the nation's best Freestyle riders in attendance including: Chris "Teach" McNeil of Core 6, Ronnie Hurst and Ryan Cramer of Team DV8, Grant Sunday and Johnny Seals of KC's Most Wanted, Mark Lonchar and Jeff Mellon of MotoPsychoZ, Nick Hill, "Dizzo" Dan Martel and Matt Schwartz of Scooter Trash, as well as Matt "Thew" Blankstrom, defending 2002 XSBA National Freestyle Champion from Team TenNinety6. The past few rounds also included Anthony D'Orsi of Tony-D Freestyle, Ricky Payne of Purebread Riders, Micah Crumley of OnOne Freestyle, Joe Dryden and David Beaudin of Vertical Outlaws, Aaron and Jacob Brunelle and Gregg Vanfossen of Geared Up, as well as Eric Hoenshell of Stunters.com and Ronnie Giovelli of Reality Racing. 2002 number two rider Chauncey Vieria of Core 6, as well as Patrick Stevens were both in attendance at Daytona, but both had issues that prevented them from competing. Daytona Speedway makes for the perfect launch pad for Long Endo/Stoppie competitions with a flat area over 2500 feet in length and over 60 feet wide. The age of the surface however shows with spots of sealer. The area in 2002 was good for a distance of 500 feet from Triple X-Treme rider Joe Brown, however this year was good for near World Record distances. Thew Blankstrom bettered the previous World Record by over 11 feet in May increasing the Stoppie distance to 749 feet. The World Record has since, been taken back by European Craig Jones to nearly 850 feet. However the Biketoberfest event at Daytona Speedway still warranted a few loose jaws with Blankstrom (1096) and newcomer Ryan Cramer (DV8) posting consistent distances over 750 feet. Cramer has consistently logged practice distances over 1000 feet at the Team DV8 practice facility back in Michigan, but was only good for 781 feet at Daytona. Enough to take the event win over Blankstrom's 765 feet, and Jeff Mellon's best at 500 feet. *Press Release From XSBA.com* 2002 XSBA National Champion "Thew" Blankstrom will attempt to break the World Record for the Longest Endo/Stoppie at Mid-America Motorplex April 11-13! After the festivities of Bike Week, and some quality riding time in the "Sunshine State" (Florida), Blankstrom has set his sites on breaking the World Record for the Longest Endo/Stoppie currently set at just over 738 feet. The current record is just over 738 feet (when converted from meters) by Craig Jones on a Buell XB-9R Motorcycle. Jones recently claimed the record previously held by Kevin Carmichael of 668 feet on a Suzuki 1000. Both riders have accomplished their respective records by modifying their stock handlebars to a Moto-Cross bar set-up. Blankstrom's machine remains relatively stock, with only aftermarket clip-on handlebars mounted in their original location. On this stock-like set-up, Blankstrom has been consistently rolling over 680 feet, with his longest measured at just over 725 feet with a limited approach. "Given the room to catch another gear, I am sure that I can get another 75 feet", stated Blankstrom on his way home from Florida. Adding, "My goal is 800." The record attempt will take place at the Mid-America Motorplex on April 11th. The facility management has agreed to open the brand new drag strip (which debuts it's first event this weekend) for this attempt by Blankstrom. If more room is needed, then the road course may also be made available. Believe that all cameras will be rolling, and official documentation will be in place. This attempt may also act as great promotion for Round 1 of the XSBA National Championship Series, and the 1st Nat'l Point Round at the Mid-America Motorplex May 23-26. The XSBA Show will be held in conjunction with the "Mid-America Cyclefest" and Motorcycle Rally co-promoted and produced by Formula USA and the Mid-America Motorplex. The weekend will include regional and national road race competition, street freestyle competitions / demos by the top XSBA teams, drag racing, a motorcycle rally, a mechanical bull, bands Friday through Sunday nights, and much more. "Tim O'Neil Motorsports will be the official sponsor of the event May 23-26, and we are expecting more than 5,000 enthusiasts to be a part of the "Motorcycle Rally" over the weekend", stated Brian Stickle of Mid-America Motorplex. Sept. 22, 2002 The sport bike community lost one of it's own last night (September 22, 2002) in a fatal accident four miles South of Highway 9 on Highway 102, in Norman, Oklahoma. Brett Sloan, a good friend and well known sport bike rider and the owner of B&B Extreme Racing was traveling South on Highway 102 with a group of riders on a weekend run into the Norman, Oklahoma area when he lost control of his bike and left the road. Brett suffered massive internal injuries when he and his GSXR 750 Suzuki crashed resulting in his death while in route via air-evac to the hospital. All of us had great respect for Brett. He was a good friend and a great biker. This years 'Get A Grip on Lupus Poker Run for 2002" will be held in memory of Brett Sloan. All donations and proceeds to the Dorough Lupus Foundation generated from this event will be made in memory of Brett Sloan. Our hearts and love go out to the Sloan family as they pass through this difficult time. A memorial service for Brett will be held the 28th of September at Huxtlers Pool Hall and Grill (Brett's favorite hang-out) beginning at 6:00PM.
